Sleep Your Way to Weight Loss

Did you know that being tired completely undermines any attempt at willpower? There’s nothing that makes a person crave quick and easy calories (like sugar and simple carbs) more than being exhausted. Ever wonder why that chocolate bar looks so good around 3-4 pm? Most likely because you’re tired, your blood sugar is low, and both the sugar and caffeine in the chocolate can give you a quick boost during that mid-day slump. Get enough sleep and you’ll watch that craving disappear. Yep, you can actually sleep your way to weight loss!

Why take the time to sleep? Isn’t sleeping just a waste of time? Imagine how much more a person could accomplish if they only slept for 4-5 hours per night. There would be SO many more hours in the day to work, exercise, enjoy hobbies, and spend time with loved ones.

Unfortunately though, it’s not as easy as just deciding to sleep less. In fact, studies show that less sleep actually equals a decrease in productivity. Quality of life takes a nose dive, while stress and depression increase, and the need to unbutton ones pants upon sitting down inclines severely (aka “muffin top”).

To add insult to injury, multiple studies have found chronic sleep loss to be an actual carcinogen. Yep, that means that not getting enough zzz’s can actually cause cancer. :-/

Sleep is the most important thing you can do for your health.

That’s why I’m super excited to share a new online resource that’s all about S-L-E-E-P! Sarah Ballantyne, PhD, owner of the popular blog, The Paleo Mom, author of The Paleo Approach, The Paleo Approach Cookbook, and The Healing Kitchen has just published a new online program that is all about sleep!

Go To Bed: 14 Easy Steps to Healthier Sleep is a new online program that is quite simply the most comprehensive sleep guide ever created.

Go To Bed contains the most up-to-date and expansive summary of the relationship between sleep and all aspects of your health and well-being ever created. You won’t find a better, more thorough, guide for how to improve your sleep anywhere! This epic 258-page e-book contains every scientifically-validated tip and trick for improving sleep as well as a variety of ways for tracking and evaluating sleep so you can measure your progress! And, of course, there’s the 14-Day Sleep Challenge, designed to help you recharge your life with better sleep in just 14 easy steps.

You’ll learn:

  1. How going to bed and maintaining a sleep schedule will actually increase your productivity.

  2. How sleep (or lack there of) affects hormones and weight loss. If you’ve ever thought that you’d “get up an hour early to workout” in order to lose weight, you’ll find out why sleeping less actually undermines weight loss mechanisms in a major way!

  3. Why being chronically sleep deprived can cause depression and a lack of overall satisfaction and joy in your life.

  4. Why anyone with an autoimmune disease absolutely MUST not skimp on sleep.

  5. Why “sleep debt” can never actually be repaid and why maintaining a sleep schedule throughout the week should be your #1 health goal.

  6. How to determine how much sleep you need.

  7. What steps to take to ensure a good nights sleep.

  8. What to do when falling asleep and/or staying asleep is an issue.

Sarah has created an online community around this program, so you won’t be alone in trying to crack the sleep code. Soon you’ll be snoozing with the best of them, waking up fully rested, and you’ll watch cravings disappear and the pounds naturally fall away!
